The health management department of Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University is one of the clinics in the hospital. It provides integrated, comprehensive and high level of health examination, health management, prevention of diseases, health education and promotion, public health etc. There are eight chief physicians, five health managers, two psychologists (grade 2), one master graduate tutors and two phDs in our team of professional healthcare.

The main work of the department for the public health includes health examination and comprehensive chronic diseases outpatient.

The health examination center is located at the southeast of the hospital. It is completely separated from the ward. The environment is clean, the process is convenient, and one-stop service is implemented. It was established in 2006. Relying on the special advantages of Xuanwu Hospital in elderly diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases subjects, and special resources in the hospital including the senior medical experts, advanced equipments, we perform routine health examination and some specific screening such as cerebrovascular disease, cardiovascular disease, malignant tumor and metabolic abnormality. People can enjoy warm-hearted, considerate and high-quality service here. Moreover, besides physical health, we start to pay more attention to mental health as well since 2016. We evaluate the mental health state, then supply adjustment and guidance for some psychological condition to relieve their pressure and promote the mental and physical health.

The chronic disease clinic is to carry out an individualized and comprehensive health management after physical examination, including health risk assessment, diet guidance, exercise intervention, necessary drug guidance and health education. The main people of the outpatient are those who have high risk factors of chronic diseases such as obesity & overweight, slightly elevated blood glucose, mild high blood pressure, abnormal blood lipid, fatty liver and other chronic diseases. "Early detection and early intervention" are proved effectively to reduce the risk of chronic diseases and slow down the progression of chronic diseases.
